A challenging first half
Arsenal struggled in the first half, lacking creativity and failing to capitalize on their opportunities. Just before halftime, Jarrod Bowen delivered a powerful header to give West Ham the lead (0-1, 44′). This goal stunned the home crowd and put the visitors in control.
Disappointing second half
Returning from the break, Arsenal continued to face difficulties in breaking down West Ham’s defense. A notable attempt by Leandro Trossard in the 63rd minute was one of the few highlights for the Gunners. The situation worsened when Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off for a last-man foul in the 73rd minute, leaving Arsenal with ten men.

Impact on the standings
With this loss, Arsenal remains eight points behind Liverpool, who could extend their lead to eleven points with a victory against Manchester City on Sunday. On the other hand, West Ham’s victory allows them to climb to the 16th position, moving away from the relegation zone.
