The revival of the Batcave

The Batcave, a true sanctuary of dark sound, defined the 1980s as the gothic haven in London. Founded in 1982 by Ollie Wisdom and Jon Klein of Specimen, this iconic Soho club hosted artists like Nick Cave, Siouxsie Sioux, Lydia Lunch, and Robert Smith of The Cure. Cobwebs adorned the ceilings, black garbage bags decorated the walls, and entry was through a coffin, creating an eerie yet captivating atmosphere. For one night only, the Batcave returns to London with its original members from 1982 to 1985. This event celebrates the gothic legacy where punk meets theatrical darkness. Attendees are invited to wear their blackest attire and immerse themselves in an environment of neon, smoke, and decadence. Icons like Nick Cave and Siouxsie Sioux will join, blending with new followers for an unforgettable night.

Mønster Queen at Camden Assembly

Simultaneously, Camden Assembly hosts the final Mønster Queen of the year, inviting hidden souls and gothic spirits to their sanctuary. This event features NNHMN, a dark electronic music duo based in Berlin. Comprising Lee and Michal Laudarg, NNHMN creates evocative music infused with haunted synth sounds, strange atmospheres, and mysterious female vocals. NNHMN has captivated both local and international audiences, performing in Berlin clubs and at festivals in Seoul, New York, Montreal, and Barcelona. Their music, at the intersection of New Brutalist Theatre, experimental electronics, and techno culture, promises an immersive and enchanting experience for all attendees.

Celebration of gothic culture

These two events mark a significant moment for the gothic and electronic scenes, offering enthusiasts a unique opportunity to gather and celebrate their culture. Whether at the Batcave or Camden Assembly, participants can dive into dark and captivating worlds, rediscovering the essence of these musical and artistic movements. Prepare for a night of nostalgia and discovery, where the past meets the present in an unprecedented gothic celebration. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the history of the Batcave and Mønster Queen.

Wear your blackest clothes – and don’t you dare smile!
